TwinHelix Forums v1.0 BETA, updated 22 June 2004: Should have an Administrator account that couldn't be changed (in order to avoid another Admin (moderators), change webmaster credencial). This is special useful for the adminstrator of the fórum (all of it) can set another persons, not having the risk of someone change the status for guest, or member.
Guest isn't just some one who isn't identify? If yes, why can we change a member to guest... if they still register.
We should have a away of deleting members not wanted in the forum and block that name from being used until e want to relased it.

Thanks for the suggestions! Some are already in place:

1) Administrator account: There is only one; the first account you create is automatically an Administrator and all other accounts are Members. To create other admins, that Administrator has to edit their accounts and give them admin privileges.

2) 'Guests'  are just people who aren't logged in. Well, there's not much point in changing a member to a guest, but you can do it if you want :).

3)  You can't delete people entirely once they've signed up, but what you can do is create a 'banned' group of users (in the configuration section of forum.pl) and assign accounts to that group, so they're not allowed to post. Or, you could simply change their password to something random so they can't sign in.

I might have to improve the documentation, and perhaps set up an example 'banned' group in the demo script...

Hope this helps - Angus.

About point 1... the problem is that the Administrator can give admin privileges to a member... but is possible that the member that recived admin privileges to retired the privileges from the Administrator! That's the problem. It is possible i've made the test.

About the rest I think I've understand :P

Hmm. Well, this is by design -- I assume that the administrators trust each other, and if one wants to retire the others can change his/her account.

Whoever has FTP access can always manually edit their own account info to give themselves whatever privileges they want, so it's not like you're going to get kicked out of your own account :).

Basically  I'd create another "moderators" group if you want, with privileges to do anything but change other people's groups, and assign your admins to that...

- Angus.
