Is it in mind to make a system that allow members to upload their own image, in order to be seen at member info page and in the message? and why not give also the option to link the image from an outside server? of course image length and height, size (kb), and file type should be configurable if possible.

You can put an IMG tag in your sig -- shouldn't be a problem with that. You do have to upload it to your own server.
Personally I don't really like forums that have lots and lots of avatars and sig images; too slow to load! I am however slowly rewriting this script, and it might be possible to do it as a plugin once I'm done, so there's no ruling it out.
