Spam postings

I have noticed a number of spammer postings to the forums - nothing too serious in terms of volume luckily and I think they are fairly promptly weeded out.

I wonder if the forum script would easily allow for the inclusion of one of the spam blockers that are available? See http://codex.wordpress.org/Plugins/Spam_Tools

Yeah, it's about hald a dozen a day, I'm deleting them manually at the moment. Sorry you have to bear them in the interim. This script is written in Perl and it's getting a little crusty around the edges ;), Wordpress's plugins are PHP so they're probably not directly applicable.

I'll come up with something clever if the problem gets worse and I have free time; since not many other sites run this script spammers won't do much in particular to counteract any changes, I hope!

Just a quick test to see that (a) posting still works, and (b) to note that I've implemented a very basic antispam measure in this script that might trip up a spambot or two. Will have to come up with some other crazy hacks if this fails ;).
