Hi Angus,
We haven't gone live yet, and we have this problem I can't figure out...
In IE6, I get an "unknown runtime error, line 9, char 4022" when I put an <a> tag within the title (for tipster). It works great in Mozilla. Any thoughts? Thanks!!! It burbs with the target="_blank" too.

Wacky. Do you have a copy of your work in progress online? One thing I can think of might be mismatched quotes, i.e. using single- or double-quotes within a string without escaping them?
Also, have you considered using the SuperNote script, which does much the same thing but is newer and a lot more flexible?
Good luck - Angus.

Hi Angus,
We use PHP, PEAR, and Smarty templates, and I just tried to recreate this in an HTML file, but I don't get the error. It must be something to do with one of those parts. Right now the app is behind locked doors, although I'd be happy to give you a temp key if you're interested. I'll be happy to pay you in January 2007 for all your help so far.
I took a look at the supernote script, but I really like the use of the title attribute. It's so easy & makes sense. Also, it took be a long time to get it working, and unfortunately I don't have time to port all that work over.
Thanks!

I also took a look at the "view source" in mozilla & IE6 --- mozilla makes the titles disappear (title=""), and IE6 leaves them all there -- is this what its supposed to do?

looks like firefox & IE7 also keep the titles.

Hmm, a link and/or key would be good -- or perhaps if you can just reproduce the issue with a short series of modifications to the demo script, that would be even better!
Cheers - Angus.

Angus, I'd like to make a donation that covers resolving this bug & another one I have with the fsmenu, namely, that tabbing doesn't work. Can you contact me directly & let me know what a reasonable donation would be to fix these issues for our site? I can send you a link to our site with username & password access too if you give me a private email or another way to contact you. thanks!
