I tore my hair out for a while wondering why when I did a static tip it always popped in the top left corner.
All other tip types that I tried (inline and using formula position) worked fine.
I am not sure what made me try it but I removed the Milonic DHTML menu (www.milonic.com) from the page and voila...static tips worked perfectly.
Replaced Milonic and it broke again.
I have had a look to see if I can figure out the problem but no joy...any fix would be appreciated as they are both great scripts.
I have kludged around static tips by using window positioning, but it is not as good as if the screen scrolls, the text goes up but the popup will stay in same location on screen.
Apart from that...all praise to you for a great script.

Hmm! Milonic's a complicated script; perhaps try rearranging the order of the <script> elements in the document? That can often help interactions between scripts.
Alternatively, I have two popup menus of my own, both of which are quite capable :). An "SuperNote" an alternative (and superior IMHO) tooltip script.
